UPDATE @ 7:50 p.m.: Several Springfield High School students were detained Wednesday after a large fight at the school and a false report about gunfire.
The fist fight did not include guns, but police did increase their presence at the school for the rest of the day, according to a social media post from the Springfield Police Division.
The initial phone call to police resulted in several officers being sent to the campus, but many officers left after an investigation determined there was no gunfire. Police declined further comment.

A reported physical altercation at Springfield High School was a false alarm, according to police.
During a fight between several students, one student reportedly banged their hand against a locker. Some interpreted that sound as shots being fired, according to police.
