CENTERVILLE — Doubleday’s plans to finish its move and open in its new location in the Cross Pointe Shopping Center in Centerville later this month.
Co-owner John Thomas and his family signed a contract on the new location, which is located in the former Outback Steakhouse, in March on the same day COVID-19 started shutting down businesses in the state.

The Centerville restaurant still currently operates out of another storefront in Cross Pointe as carryout only.
When Doubledays opens in the new location on Sept. 17, it will continue with serving take-out only, but plans to open up the new dining room a couple weeks after that.
“I’m excited about reaction for the people who have been coming here for so long,” Thomas said.
Even with current COVID-19 restrictions the new dining room will be able to serve about 150 people.
The restaurant is moving, because owners said they’ve simply outgrown their current location.
