WATCH: Dash cam video released in I-75 chase in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — UPDATE @ 4:53 p.m.:

Dash camera video has been released in a high-speed chase involving troopers on southbound I-75 in Montgomery County Wednesday afternoon.

Donald Fife Jr., 27, was booked into jail on a preliminary charge of fleeing and eluding.

A state trooper attempted to pull the SUV over for a speeding violation around 12:35 p.m. near the I-70, I-75 interchange, but Fife refused to pull over, investigators said.

The pursuit continued on south on I-75 through Montgomery County with speeds reaching around 100 mph during the chase, initial reports indicate.

Dayton police deployed a tire deflation device as the pursuit approached U.S. 35. which punctured and deflated the right-front tire of the SUV. While troopers and police attempted to surround the SUV and bring it to a stop, the SUV crashed into the back of a cruiser, causing minor damage, state troopers said.

Fife was arrested after the pursuit ended just south of the U.S. 35 interchange.

Fife told investigators he ran because he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, investigators said.

No injuries were reported and additional details were not available.
