Man suffers life-threatening injuries in Ohio 4 pedestrian strike

JEFFERSON TWP. — UPDATE @ 3:35 a.m: A 41-year-old man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on Ohio 4 Sunday night.

Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to Ohio 4 and Coulson Drive on a pedestrian strike around 9:30 p.m. after an RTA bus driver alerted 9-1-1 dispatchers that she rode past a man lying in the middle of the road.

“He’s bleeding terribly ... he had to be hit by a car,” the caller said.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was on the side shoulder area on Ohio 4 when a vehicle traveling southwest struck him, the release stated. The vehicle failed to stop after the collision.

The suspect vehicle is described as a Toyota, possibly black in color, with a missing side view mirror.

The victim’s name was not released.
