House a ‘total loss’ after fire in Xenia Township

XENIA TOWNSHIP — A house is considered a total loss after a fire in Xenia Township Friday.

Greene County crews were called to the fire in the 2000 block of US-68 North around 4:20 p.m.

Xenia Township Fire Captain Logan Surls told our crews that when they arrived on scene they saw heavy fire coming from the house.

Crews had trouble getting to the house as the gate leading to the long driveway of the house was locked.

They also had trouble setting up the water supply as there were no hydrants in the area.

Xenia Township was assisted on scene by fire departments including Cedarville, Xenia city and Miami Township.

The house was unoccupied.

No one, including those fighting the fire, were injured.
