Clark County receives $42,000 grant for traffic safety

CLARK COUNTY — The Clark County Combined Health District is using money from a grant to raise awareness about traffic safety in an effort to save lives and improve the quality of live for residents

The CCCHD was awarded $42,000 in federal traffic funding for the upcoming fiscal year by the Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

According to a release, the CCCHD plan to use the grant money to work with local businesses, schools and law enforcement agencies to educate the community on proper use of seat belts and the importance of maintaining safe speeds while driving.

“Partnerships are crucial to the success of any safety effort and we are committed to working with community and state partners to address traffic safety concerns in Clark County,” Leslie Stine, Safe Communities Coalition Coordinator for Clark County, said.

Funds for the grant support statewide efforts of safety partners and focus on traffic safety priority areas such as restraint use, impaired driving, motorcycle safety and youthful drivers.
