PIQUA — As fall colors begin to fade, fallen leaves can get in the way of people trying to keep their yards looking nice.
The City of Piqua is offering help to make keeping up with lawn care a little easier.
Inside the Piqua Cares Community Trailer, people can find lawn care tools such as a leaf blower, shovels, a rake and more.

Everything inside of the trailer is available to anyone in the city to rent for free.
“Whether it be elderly, disabled, just really anyone that needed help fixing up their properties. If they wanted to help a project in our parks - It gave them the opportunity to have equipment without purchasing the equipment,” said Brittany Van Horn, City of Piqua Public Relations.
The trailer has been available to loan since 2019, but not many people have taken advantage of it services.

“I think people may just not know and people probably don’t know how to get their hands on it and so the biggest thing is calling out health and sanitation department or just stopping in,” Van Horn said.
The tools and supplies are locally donated and replenished.
“Everything in it is from Piqua, which is great—the community really coming together,” Van Horn said.
A few weeks ago, several residents rented out the trailer to help clean up properties of those who are unable to.
Residents can rent the trailer for up to five days. People looking to rent the trailer can apply online at www.piquaoh.org.
