Body cam footage shows police break up brawl at Dayton library

DAYTON — New video shows the moments a brawl broke out for a second time at a local library.

News Center 7 previously reported that on Dec. 18 Dayton police and fire crews were called to Dayton Metro Library at 215 E 3rd Street on reports of an assault around 2:45 p.m.

Video shows Dayton officers rushing in as a group of teens were screaming and some fighting.

Police responded to the first reports of a fight at 2:40 p.m.

After handling that situation, another fight happened after 4 p.m.

Two 18-year-olds were fighting a 15-year-old boy on the second floor, police said.

Both 18-year-olds were taken into custody.

The 15-year-old boy recovered from the assault and cooperated with police.

Police and library staff removed everyone from the building and closed it off to the public for an hour.
