CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Bengals have named their new offensive line coach and assistant coach.

The Bengals named Scott Peters as the offensive line coach and Michael McCarthy as the assistant offensive line coach on Monday, Jan. 20.

Peters, 46, spent the 2024 season as the New England Patriots’ offensive line coach, according to a release.
He also served as assistant offensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns from 2020-2023.
“Scott is a great fit for our offense,” head coach Zac Taylor said. “He is passionate about the position and has done a great job of both developing young players and helping veteran players continue to grow. He is familiar with the AFC North and knows what it takes to win in our division. I am excited to have him on our staff.”
Peters was an All-Pac-10 center at Arizona State University before he was selected to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2002 draft, according to the release.
He played for five NFL teams from 2002-2009 and was in seven regular-season games for the New York Giants in 2003.
McCarthy, 39, served as an offensive coaching assistant for the New England Patriots.
He has six years of collegiate coaching experience and spent the 2018 season as an offensive assistant at Rutgers University before coaching the offensive line at Brown University from ‘19-23.
He also coached at North Carolina Central in 2014, Tulane University from 2012 to 2013, and the College of New Jersey in 2009.
McCarthy served as an offensive quality control coach for the Browns in 2015.
He spent the 2016-2017 seasons with the Detroit Lions as the offensive quality control/assistant offensive line coach.
