Dayton mayor declares Saturday Dayton Triangles Day in honor of 100th anniversary of first NFL game

DAYTON — A ceremony was held on Saturday to commemorate the first NFL game played at Triangle Park.

Mayor Nan Whaley, Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther, CEO of Dayton History Brady Kress and Dayton NFL legend Keith Byars held the private ceremony where Whaley declared Saturday Dayton Triangles Day.

The original celebration was planned to be open to the public but those initial plans were changed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
