Death investigation launched after body discovered inside dumpster at Fairborn apartment complex

FAIRBORN — Police are investigating the death of a male whose body was discovered inside a dumpster at a Fairborn apartment complex Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the Arlington Village apartments in the 200 block of West Dayton Yellow Springs Road just before 8 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a death investigation, a Fairborn police spokesperson said in a media release.

A male, who was not identified, was found dead inside the dumpster, police said. The identity and cause of death were not released, pending investigation and notification of family members by the Greene County Coroner’s Office.

Police said they located a handgun near the deceased person and added there is no apparent threat to the general public.
