Police: Driver who hit Fairborn cruiser arrested for OVI

FAIRBORN — UPDATE @ 12:35 p.m. (Aug. 16):

A woman who struck a Fairborn police cruiser Wednesday night was arrested on suspicion of OVI and operating a vehicle without reasonable control, according to Fairborn police.

Kelli Figgins, 49, of Greenfield, Ohio, was arrested at the scene of the crash on Dayton Yellow Springs Road Wednesday night, police said.

Figgins was no longer in jail Thursday afternoon.

INITIAL REPORT:

A Fairborn police cruiser was involved in a crash late Wednesday that damaged both the cruiser and a second vehicle.

The cruiser was reportedly struck around 11:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Dayton Yellow Springs Road near Interstate 675, near Fairborn High School.

It was not clear whether the officer was inside the cruiser at the time of the accident or if anyone was injured.
