HARRISON TWP. — A Harrison Twp. man accused of stabbing, raping and holding his girlfriend against her will on Christmas was found competent to stand trial.

A judge set Kyle M. Quillen’s trial date for June 10, according to court records.
Quillen is facing rape, felonious assault and abduction charges.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 8 p.m. on Christmas from a woman saying she had been stabbed and was from Quillen’s home.
Deputies reportedly found her on Klepinger Road near Siebenthaler Avenue.

The woman told News Center 7 that Quillen wasn’t taking medication for an apparent mental health disorder and he “thought he was someone he wasn’t.”
She reportedly escaped the home by kicking open a bedroom door and moving a cabinet so she could jump out the window.
Quillen’s mother told this news organization that her son has suffered from mental health issues for more than a decade, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

He pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on Jan. 23. Quillen’s attorney requested a mental competency evaluation the same day.
His final pretrial hearing is scheduled for May 29.
