Kettering police investigate golf course bomb threat

Explosives-detecting K-9s were brought to Indian Trails Miniature Golf Course in Kettering after a hand-written bomb threat was discovered on a door of the men’s bathroom in the clubhouse.

Kettering police Sgt. Doug Gaudette said the note was found about 7:49 p.m. and the course, 1601 E. David Road, had been mostly evacuated by the time police arrived. He was not certain about the number of people on the courses or in the clubhouse at the time of the evacuation.

No one answered the phone when we called the facility about 9:30 p.m.

There is no bomb that police can find, the sergeant said, but K-9s from Montgomery County and the Dayton Police Department are walking the two outdoor, 18-hole courses.

The note on the door looks as though it was written by a kid, he said.

We’ll update this report as we get more information.
