Heritage of Flight festival worker bumped by car; driver faces OVI charge

NEW CARLISLE — A volunteer for the 14th annual Heritage of Flight Festival in New Carlisle was directing traffic Friday night when the mirror of a passing vehicle bumped him and knocked him to the ground.

The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. at Main and Church streets.

The volunteer, who was not identified, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, crews on scene said.

The man driving the vehicle that struck the volunteer was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, OVI.

The driver’s name was not yet available.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded.
