Silo collapses at New Carlisle business where silo previously collapsed this year

NEW CARLISLE — A silo collapse at Miami Valley Feed and Grain Company on West Jefferson Street in New Carlisle marks the second time such an incident has happened at the business this year.

Emergency crews responded around 2:30 p.m. and a power pole was snapped during the incident, according to investigators.

Firefighters said the silo was holding grain waste and the road in the area remains open.

This is the same business a silo collapsed at in January, where 10,000 tons of corn were dumped onto Ohio 571.
