Driver in Wendy’s crash caught in prostitution sting Kellee Spangenberger (Miami County Jail)

Two women were caught in a Troy police investigation into alleged prostitution, and one of the suspects may be facing charges as the driver responsible for crashing into the Wendy’s restaurant, 1300 Archer Drive, last week.

Kellee E. Spangenberger, 28, of Troy, is being held in the Miami County Jail on suspicions of drug possession and soliciting; Kimberly Dawn Moore, 36, of Christiansburg, is being held on suspicions of cocaine possession, complicity and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Capt. Jeff Kunkleman said investigators set up a meeting through backpage.com with Spangenberger at a Troy hotel Monday night. Moore was with Spangenberger when officers met them and both were arrested on various charges.

Kunkleman said Spangenberger was the driver responsible for crashing into the Archer Drive Wendy's restaurant on Sept. 7. It was the second crash into the same restaurant in a year's time.

Kunkleman said additional charges may be filed against her depending on results from blood tests.
