Donation jar stolen during Goodwill break-in

Police believe a donation jar was taken from inside the Goodwill store on East Fifth Street after a man somehow entered the business through the front door.

Officers responded to the store in the 500 block of East Fifth around 3:40 a.m. and discovered the front door of the business had been opened, police said.

Investigators were still trying to determine how the man opened the door.

The man entered the business and somehow was able to detach the donation jar from a counter, where it was connected by some type of cord, police said.

Surveillance video was recorded inside the store, and police hope the video will lead to a possible arrest, but so far no arrests in the case have been made.
