Dayton man indicted in child rape case

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 4:25 p.m. (June 5)

A 39-year-old Dayton man was indicted today for nine counts of child rape.

Chay Carmi Lane is charged with three counts of rape of a child younger than 10 and six counts of rape of a child younger than 13, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

The victim is known to Lane, court records show.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, and is being held on $500,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail.

A 39-year-old Dayton man remains jailed in connection to a child rape case.

Chay Carmi Lane was arrested around 7 p.m. May 26 by Dayton police at the Kettering Police Department, 3600 Shroyer Road.

He was then booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held without bond on suspicion of three counts of rape of a child younger than 10; three counts of rape of a child younger than 13; and one count of gross sexual imposition. He is due May 29 for arraignment in Dayton Municipal Court, online jail records show.
