— A 37-year-old Dayton man is accused of reporting a bogus shooting and home invasion in Centerville.
Tyre E. Johnson was indicted today by a Montgomery County grand jury for making false alarms. He is ordered to appear Tuesday for arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, documents show.
Centerville police and medics were dispatched June 18 to a home in the 8200 block of Rhine Way after a man reported he shot an intruder.
Police surrounded the home and later forced entry but found no evidence of a crime.
Officer John Davis said Johnson was involved with a previous burglary at the residence.
Court records show that he was indicted in April for a burglary that occurred between Feb. 25 and March 8 at the home. He has pleaded not guilty.
Johnson is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail, where he has been locked up since his June 18 arrest.
