Convicted Kettering child pornographer has $250K bond in child rape case

KETTERING — A Kettering man sentenced to 22½ years in prison for producing child pornography is facing child rape charges in Greene and Montgomery counties.

Matthew Myron Jones, 45, appeared Thursday for his arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, where his bond was set at $250,000. Although he has a bond, he also is being held in the jail on a detainer through the U.S. Marshals Service.

He previously was indicted for rape of a child younger than 10, court records show.

Last month, he was indicted for rape of child younger than 13 in Greene County for an act that reportedly happened between May and November 2003 in Xenia, according to court documents.

It is not clear whether the cases involve the same accuser.

Jones on Nov. 27, 2019, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Dayton to serve 22½ years in prison after he pleaded guilty in December 2018 to producing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
