Car found on its top, police investigate

UPDATE at 8 a.m.: Police identified the driver of a car found on its top off Interstate 675 as a 23-year-old man, but are not releasing his name.

He was driving on Interstate 675 when he crashed his vehicle. Initial reports indicate he then walked up to a house on James Madison Trail North and sat on a woman's porch while she called for help.

Sugarcreek police said they are investigating whether alcohol was involved.

The man was treated and released from the hospital.

EARLIER: Police are now investigating how a man crashed his car on its top this morning.

The man reportedly walked into Kettering and said he had wrecked off Interstate 675 around 4 a.m.

Officers and troopers from the Ohio Highway Patrol had to search for the vehicle, and they found it overturned on Swigart Road in Sugarcreek Twp.

The vehicle was on the far side of a guardrail, between the northbound and southbound lanes of 675, according to initial reports.

They also searched the area for other possible victims, but did not find anyone, troopers said.

According to initial reports, the man was taken to Miami Valley South for treatment.

Sugarcreek Twp. police are investigating him for possibly driving while impaired.
