Butler County OVI checkpoint planned for tonight

MIDDLETOWN — The Butler County OVI Task Force will be conducting an OVI Checkpoint tonight Friday, Jan. 17 in Middletown.

The sobriety checkpoint will start at 6 p.m. and end no later than 10;30 p.m. on University Boulevard/Ohio 122 at First Avenue where the northbound lanes will be checked.

State law requires OVI checkpoint times and locations be announced ahead of time.

In addition to the checkpoint, there will be saturation patrols in the area, as part of the task force’s continuing effort to reduce OVI-related crashes resulting in injuries and fatalities.

The Butler County OVI Task Force is funded by U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
