MASON, Ohio — Kings Island announced on Tuesday morning the addition of a $27 million campground and luxury outdoor resort.
The year-round outdoor resort is expected to be open in Spring of 2021.
According to a press release, construction of Kings Island Camp Cedar is underway and will feature modern lodging that will welcome guests.
Officials said Kings Island Camp Cedar is a hybrid resort and camping facility with 73 cottages and 164 full-service RV spaces with 100 additional cottages planned for the future on the 50-acres of land that will be located less than a mile from Kings Island.

The resort will include recreational and adult-exclusive pools, ponds, walking trail and unique dining options. The camping locations will include bathhouse, laundry facilities, firepits, grills and picnic tables.
“It’s natural for us to partner with Cedar Fair, the owners of Kings Island,” said Jon Small, Chairman and CEO of Small Brothers. “As a top destination in the area, their ability to entertain and provide a place to create lasting memories is exactly the type of experience we want our visitors to have at Kings Island Camp Cedar.”
Camp Cedar is owned by Small Brothers, LLC and Terra Firma Associates and through a unique partnership and licensing agreement, the new luxury resort will be managed by Cedar Fair, which owns Kings Island, the release said.
