WASHINGTON TWP. — UPDATE @ 9:48 a.m.:

Alexander Wilkens, 20, of Centerville was killed in the crash on Yankee Street in Washington Twp. Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Five additional victims were taken to the hospital with injuries after the crash.

UPDATE @ 11:20p.m.:

1 dead, 5 others taken to hospital after a car crash on Yankee Street in Washington Twp. Saturday afternoon, according to a statement made by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies that responded to the scene say that after investigating the scene it was found a black Chevy sedan was traveling south on Yankee st. when the driver attempted to pass two vehicles traveling south. The black Chevy sedan went left of center and collided with a grey Honda van traveling north on Yankee St.

The black sedan rolled over the top of the Honda van and continued to roll south on Yankee St. striking a black SUV that was also traveling south on Yankee St, according to MCSO.

The four occupants of the Honda van and the driver of the SUV were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the black Chevy sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by MCSO.

Crews were on the scene of a fatal vehicle crash near the 1400 block of Yankee Street in Washington Twp.

According to dispatch, the crash happened just after 4:00 p.m.

Reports also showed that two vehicles were involved with one vehicle rolled on its side.

Dispatch confirmed that multiple people were injured and one person sustained fatal injuries.

Crews on the scene asked drivers to avoid the area due to debris on the roadway.
