Here’s how to track Hurricane Irma’s projected path

Our Storm Center 7 team has been watching the development of Hurricane Irma very closely and monitoring its potential track and impacts it could have on the Miami Valley. Irma is projected to bring life-threatening storms surge and flooding to the Gulf Coast of Florida.

There is still time to see some adjustment in the development of this storm, that’s why it’s important to watch for updates coming out of the National Hurricane Center. They update the forecast track and cone every 3 hours. This is the same track and cone that can be found within our WHIO weather app.

The WHIO Weather app has a special feature that provides the latest forecast cone of any tropical storm or hurricane that forms in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic waters. It is a free feature that can be layered upon the radar tab within the app.

Along with the track of the storm, the app can be manually set to send any hurricane or tropical storm watches and warnings directly to your phone when issued.
