— Cloudy with a Chance of Podcast is back and this week Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs and Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini are taking a deep dive into earthquakes.
After the strong quake in Puerto Rico, the women brought in geologist Dr. Allen McGrew from the University of Dayton.
McGrew has been studying earthquakes for decades and has taught at UD since 1995. He explains the plate tectonics behind the earthquakes in Puerto Rico. He also shares research he's done in Nevada about the plate shifts happening in the United States.
McGrew also explained to McCall and Kirstie the ancient faults that exist in Ohio and why we experience earthquakes here.
