Back-to-School Science: Combustible Bubbles

Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini partnered with Boonshoft Museum of Discovery to bring your kids some interesting science experiments as we head back into school! This week was a fun experiment to learn about combustion.

For combustion to occur you need oxygen, heat, and fuel. Zontini says an example of a combustion reaction is a tree getting struck by lightning. Oxygen is present, lightning is the heat source and the tree is the fuel.

At the Science Theater in Boonshoft, she took part in an experiment that used gas, bubbles, and fire to create a bright reaction. If you want to see this experiment in person, Boonshoft has shows in their Science Theater throughout the weekend all year!
