Saturday’s game was called off after RMU shut down their program until need week due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, a UD athletics spokesperson said in a media release.

Dayton and Robert Morris will not reschedule the game.

The Flyers will now open their season Sept. 11 at home against Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m.

Dayton did not play a fall season in 2020 after the Pioneer Football League cancelled the season due to COVID-19. The Flyers opted out of playing a spring PFL season earlier this year. The last time UD played a football game was Nov. 23, 2019, a home win against Butler University, 650 days ago.
