Former Flyer Josh Cunningham has been added to Red Scare’s roster for TBT

DAYTON — The University of Dayton alumni team, Red Scare, announced Monday that is has added former Dayton Flyer forward Josh Cunningham to its roster for The Basketball Tournament (TBT) this summer.

He joins his former college teammates Darrell Davis, Trey Landers, Ryan Mikesell and Scoochie Smith. Former Flyer Vee Sanford and Joe Thomasson will also be on this year’s roster.

Cunningham graduated from Dayton in 2019. He suffered an ankle fracture as a sophomore and was a two-time All-NABC All-District selection. He averaged over 15 points and eight rebounds his junior year and finished fifth in the country in field goal percentage (.646, 186-288).

As a senior, Cunningham averaged over 13 points a game and six boards, and finished his Flyer career with the now third best career field percentage (.639, 367-574) in school history. He also made twenty-two straight field goals in a three game-stretch as a junior, holding the school for most consecutive field goals made.

Since finishing his college career, Cunningham has played professionally overseas in The Netherlands, New Zealand and Bosnia.

Tickets are now on sale for the TBT games in Dayton. The dates are July 24, 26 and 27 and July 29-31 and the championship game is August 2nd. For more TBT ticket information, visit this website or call the UD Arena Ticket Office at (937) 229-4433.
