The Eagles lost, 56-54, to Lutheran West in the Division II semifinals after leading much of the game.

CJ had a 54-52 lead but Joshua Meyer scored to tie the game with 38 seconds remaining.

Chaminade Julienne missed the front end of a one and one at the foul line giving Lutheran West a chance to win.

Meyer’s dunk with two seconds left gave the Longhorns the lead.

The Eagles had one more chance but George Washington III missed a three-pointer as time expired.

Lutheran West will face Buchtel Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. for the Division II State Championship at the UD Arena.

Washington was named the Gatorade Ohio Boys Basketball Player of the Year earlier this week and plans to play at Michigan next year.
