Alize James said a couple came into Bully Kamp on Nov. 4 and looked at various bulldog breeds before deciding on one, KPRC reported on Monday.

James went to get paperwork for a delivery driver, and when she returned, the couple had left the store. The woman was seen with the dog in her arms walking to their car.

James ran after them. The 7-month old puppy had recently had surgery and needed medicine.

“My mind is focused on her health. I obviously didn’t care about my wellbeing,” James said.

James was able to chase down the couple to their car. The driver hit her with the vehicle before threatening to run her over.

“Next time I heard the gas go, he went very aggressively and (the bumper) kind of like slapped me on top of the car,” James said.

She clung to the hood of the vehicle for nearly 10 minutes as the driver weaved and sped through the area. When the car stopped, the man got out and started hitting James. James said she fought back, but the couple got away with the dog.

The woman was later identified as Royshana King. She was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

The man King was with has not been identified.

James does not regret her actions. However, she said she would not chase after them again.
