PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A public works employee in Providence, Rhode Island, has been accused of delivering fentanyl while on the clock.
The employee, 23-year-old Christopher Anderson, was arrested Thursday and charged with unlawful delivery of fentanyl. Investigators found nearly 1,200 blue glassine bags of the suspected drug on him at the time of his arrest, WPRI-TV reported.
Investigators believe Anderson was distributing the suspected fentanyl “while on duty in his capacity as a city employee,” Lindsay Lague, a spokesperson for the Providence Police Department, told the TV station.
According to The Providence Journal, police alleged that Anderson distributed the fentanyl at a public works facility.
