In an emailed statement, Novi police said they were initially called by a father who said that his son had been talking to a woman from California online. The father told police the woman had flown to Michigan and rented an Airbnb and was sending a car to the child’s house to pick him up.

Police told WWJ-TV that before the car arrived, the teen got spooked and told his parents.

Novi police told WWJ-TV that their investigation revealed that Sin had been in contact with the teen for more than a year.

Sin allegedly met the boy on an app when he was 14, and then the conversation moved to texts and got more explicit, Novi police told WJBK.

“It started as them talking casually and then it advanced to more sexually explicit talk,” Novi police Lieutenant Jason Meier told WJBK. “She was a little surprised (at the arrest), but at the same time she knew what she was doing.”

Police told WJBK Sin never made physical contact with the teenager.

Sin is charged with two felonies in connection with the case.
