CVS to hire 15,000 to prepare for fall, winter COVID-19, flu cases

Pharmacy retailer CVS is looking to hire 15,000 employees as the company starts to prepare for not only an expected uptick in COVID-19 cases, but also the fall and winter flu season.

Of the 15,000 positions, about 10,000 will be full-time and part-time licensed pharmacy technicians to dispense medications and perform COVID-19 testing, NBC News reported.

The company had already announced plans to hire 50,000 employees back in March, Reuters reported.

The federal government signed a deal last week with CVS and Walgreens to dispense COVID-19 vaccines to residents at long-term care facilities, according to Reuters.

CVS already has 300,000 employees across the country, Forbes reported.
