WEST LITTLE RIVER, Fla. — A 16-year-old boy was among eight people injured when two unidentified gunmen opened fire near a basketball court Sunday evening in a South Florida park.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred at 7:07 p.m. in Little River Park, wounding six of the eight injured critically, WTVJ reported.

The 16-year-old victim was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center, the TV station reported.
Meanwhile, a second shooting was reported in Allapattah just moments after officers arrived at Little River Park. The second shooting injured four people, all of whom were transported to area hospitals in stable condition, WTVJ reported.
Alfredo “Freddy” Ramirez, director of the Miami-Dade Police Department, posted a tweet soon after the second shooting, noting his officers were at the scene of “another tragic shooting involving juveniles,” WPLG reported.

Authorities have not yet determined if the shootings are related.
