SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield mom of a baby found dead at the Drake Motel was sentenced to three years in prison.
Shania Delawder, 20, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Clark County Common Pleas Court. She was charged in connection to newborn Liam Lee Spencer’s death. Liam died in 2016 and the cause of his death was blunt force trauma, according to investigators.

Clark County Prosecutor Andy Wilson said Delawder wasn't there when the baby was hurt but didn't take action after he was hurt.
“After realizing that Liam was injured, she failed to get medical help for him and as a result of those injuries, Liam died,” Wilson said.
