Investigators believe two garage fires on Highland Avenue in Springfield were intentionally set Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were first called out to the 1500 block of Highland Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday on a reported garage fire. Investigators say the structure suffered significant damage in the fire.
Around 2:30 a.m. Springfield Fire was dispatched to the 1600 block of Highland Avenue after another garage caught fire. Both the structure and a vehicle inside the garage suffered significant damage in that blaze.
Investigators say both of these fires are suspicious and are being investigated as possible arson. The state fire marshall has been called to investigate both blazes.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
