Man seriously injured in Enon pedestrian strike

UPDATE @10:35 a.m.:

Officials are investigating whether a man’s injuries were caused by a fight and fall in a parking lot, or if he was struck by a vehicle.

Mark Bean, 32, was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital with head injuries early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Officials responded to Legends Sports Pub and Grill in the 7600 block of Dayton Road at 2:25 a.m. on the report of a pedestrian struck. According to police, the victim had been arguing with another male inside the bar and went outside, where they began physically fighting.

Police stopped a vehicle near the Speedway at 62 East Main Street, and the driver and passenger were taken in for questioning. Police said the passenger was the man who fought with the victim,.

Bean is listed in critical condition at Miami Valley Hospital.

Officials say the victim of the pedestrian strike is a man in his 30s who suffered head injuries.

The man was taken from the scene to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight and the injuries are considered serious.

Police say a suspect vehicle has been identified and stopped near the Speedway at 62 East Main Street.

FIRST REPORT:

CareFlight has been requested to a reported pedestrian strike in Enon.

Police and medics were dispatched to the parking lot of Discount Drug Mart at 7617 Dayton Springfield Road around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of someone hit by a car.

CareFlight has been called to the scene and landed in the parking lot as well.
