GERMANTOWN — A new American Diner-themed restaurant in Germantown will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday.

Alleyway Cafe, located at 34 West Center Street, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:00 a.m. They have planned family-friendly events for the rest of the day which include:
- 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. - Free face painting for children
- 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Free balloon to each child (while supplies last)
- 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Touch-a-Truck
According to the restaurant’s social media page, the Touch-a-Truck event will feature different emergency vehicles, including a SWAT vehicle. However, this event depends on whether the vehicles are called for an emergency.

Additional events throughout the day include:
- Alleyway Cafe t-shirts for purchase
- Donation Drive: Drop off jars of peanut butter or jelly for Sonshine in a Bag
- Prize wheel spin for each paying customer
- Raffle prizes for customers to enter for a chance to win
The restaurant plans to serve breakfast and lunch every day but will start will a limited menu. The breakfast menu includes omelets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal, various Al-a-carte items, and meal options. The lunch menu features cheese curds, spinach artichoke dip, potato skins, pretzel sticks and beer cheese, various sandwiches, including hamburgers, fish, chicken, BLT, and grilled cheese, and soups and salads.
The restaurant will be open Tuesday - Sunday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with plans to extend hours and include dinner.
