Nearly one third of registered voters in Montgomery County request mail-in ballots

More than 9,000 people have already cast in-person ballots in Montgomery County, and almost one third of registered voters have requested mail-in ballots, according to Montgomery County Board of Elections Director Jan Kelley.

The Montgomery County Board of Elections has:

  • Received requests for 110,000 mail-in ballots (368,000 are registered)
  • Mailed out 97,000 of those requested ballots
  • Received about 35,000 completed mail-in ballots
  • Hired 24 additional workers

The Board of Elections is asking for patience in tracking ballots. It takes about 24 to 72 hours to process before it gets marked online as received.
