Woman seriously hurt after jumping from hotel window after police find person overdosing in room

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — A woman was seriously hurt after jumping from a third-story window to the concrete below at the WoodSpring Suites after police responded to the hotel for an incident involving drugs.

Officers and medics responded initially to the hotel in the 3700 block of Summit Glen Drive right off I-75 around 10:40 a.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance, said Miami Twp. Officer Drew Olinger.

When officers arrived at the hotel they found a person had overdosed in the hotel room. While medics were tending to the person, a woman in the hotel room ran to the window and climbed out the window onto the external air conditioning unit, Olinger said.

After negotiating with the woman to come down from the air conditioning unit for about an hour she jumped to the concrete below, police said.

The woman had serious visible injuries when she was taken to the hospital to be treated. Her condition was not immediately available.

The person who overdosed was also taken to the hospital, but their condition was not known.

Police said charges in the case are possible, however the scope of any charges was not yet known.
