DeWine and Whaley differ on two main issues; abortion and the economy. DeWine has stressed the importance of big business and creating more jobs to slash state spending.

Whaley also supports expansion but says there is too much development in the state, according to the statehouse bureau. She is primarily focusing on abortion rights for women and is a major supporter of Roe V. Wade, while DeWine is a believer in the heartbeat bill.
