MINNEAPOLIS — A Wayne High School graduate is getting ready to play in the Final Four of the NCAA Division I women’s tournament.
University of South Carolina freshman Bree Hall has played in 34 games this season, scoring 96 points for the Gamecocks.

Hall told News Center 7′s James Rider that she’s received a lot of support from her home state.
“You know, it’s really crazy how many people are reaching out to me,” Hall said. “A lot of my old teammates from high school, coaches are reaching out to say good luck and stuff like that.”
While at Wayne, Hall was named to the McDonald’s All-American Team. She was also names Ohio’s Miss Basketball in 2021.
She said the amount of support she’s received is “amazing.”
“I just never realized how may people were in my corner, watching me play, wishing me the best,” Hall said.

The Gamecocks have been ranked No. 1 for the entire 2021-22 season. They became the first women’s team to achieve that since the University of Connecticut in the 2017-18 season, ESPN reported.
“Being No. 1 the entire season was just crazy to me,” she said.
Hall and her teammates take on Louisville for a trip to the NCAA Tournament National Championship tonight at 7 p.m. in Minneapolis.
