UPDATE: Woman, dogs rescued from Stillwater River

UNION — UPDATE @ 4:10 p.m.:

A woman and her two dogs were rescued from Stillwater River Thursday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to the river just after 2 p.m. after receiving a reports of a woman stuck in the river.

Crews on scene told News Center 7 that the boater was traveling in the river with her two dogs when one of the dogs jumped into river. The woman went into the river to get the dog and that was when she was unable to get out of the water.

Initial reports indicated she was stuck in the river between Frederick-Garland and Old Springfield roads.

Rescue boats and drones were brought out to the to assist in the search, according to our crew on scene.

Crews were able to rescue the woman and dogs. The woman was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
