UD and WSU men’s basketball lay out COVID-19 restrictions

DAYTON — This week, as college basketball returns to the Miami Valley, the University of Dayton and Wright State University have introduced their COVID-19 protocols for home games.

While the state will allow up to 300 fans inside both UD Arena and the Nutter Center, less than half will be in attendance for Flyer home games. WSU will not be letting fans in to watch the Raiders for the month of December. This is due to Montgomery County being under a purple, level 4 health advisory and the county’s stay-at-home order.

UD has laid out the following protocols for those who will be attending any of the Flyers’ home games this season:

• All fans are asked to perform a self health assessment before leaving for UD Arena. Those exhibiting symptoms or not feeling well are asked to please stay home.

• Fans are required to wear their mask completely over their nose and mouth throughout their time in UD Arena, unless they are actively eating or drinking.

• All seating areas and high touch points have been disinfected and sprayed with an antimicrobial treatment. Dedicated cleaning teams will be walking the arena throughout the game wiping down high touch point areas.

• Touchless hand sanitizers have been located throughout the arena for your convenience.

• Social distancing stickers and arrows will be placed on the floor in front of concession counters, restroom entrances, and exterior doors.

• Fans are asked to stay to the right when going up and down aisles and to be mindful of directional signage.

• Fans are asked not to gather in the concourse and sit in their assigned seating pods.

• Restrooms with two entrances will have a designated entry and exit side.

• Pregame dining will not be offered and the Connor Flight Deck and the Boesch Lounge are closed

In addition, UD Arena will be cashless, with limited concessions available, and tickets are digital in order to reduce touchpoints.
