A teenage driver, fresh at the wheel with a new learner’s permit, hit a small business on North Main Street in New Carlisle and will be cited.
According to a Clark County sheriff’s deputy, the driver made a wide right turn leaving Papa John’s pizzeria Monday afternoon and struck a building in the 400 block of North Main Street, where Susan’s Scissor Hand Barber Shop is located.
The driver told police she hit the gas instead of the brake. Neither she nor her father, who was in the SUV with her, were injured. No one inside the building reported any injury.
The accident was reported just before 6 p.m.
