COLUMBUS — Many stores, pubs and bars in central Ohio are experiencing alcohol shortages, according to our news partners at WBNS.
This is amongst a glass bottle shortage, shipping backups, labor woes and a truck driver shortage across the country.
According to IRI, a company that focuses on consumer research, at least 11% of alcohol demand has not been met since mid-November.

The price of alcohol has also increased, according to the United States Department of Labor; alcohol was about 1% more expensive this November than last year.
Zac Cochran manager of Chateau Wine and Spirits in Dublin told WBNS that he gets at least double the business during this time of the year.

Want champagne or Hennessey this New Year? Cochran said to expect it to be hard to come by.
“Anything you have to import into the country, it’s just a chain supply issue,” said Cochran. “Hennessey’s been the big one; it’s been out for about three months now.”
