Springfield Catholic Central HS closed Wednesday due to social media threat

SPRINGFIELD — Catholic Central High School in Springfield is closed Wednesday due to a social media threat that is circulating, Springfield police told our news partners at the Springfield News Sun.

Officers were requested to the school at 1200 East High Street Wednesday morning by school administrators to investigate the threat.

The school closed today as a precaution after the threat claimed “Central students” should stay home today, the newspaper reports.

Police said no credible threat has been found and it is not known the exact school the threat was referring to.
