Springboro, Miamisburg football game cancelled for tonight due to COVID-19

MIAMISBURG — The Springboro and Miamisburg varsity football game for tonight and tomorrow’s JV game has been cancelled.

The announcement comes after Springboro High School announced they had a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a junior varsity football player, district spokesman Scott Marshall told News Center 7.

“Based on information that we received from the Athletic Director and Superintendent of Springboro Community Schools, we are canceling the varsity game scheduled for tonight,” Miamisburg Athletics posted. “We will be working to reschedule this game in the future.”

Those who purchased tickets for tonight’s game will be able to be reimbursed for Springboro-purchased tickets at the Springboro Athletic Office between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who purchased through Miamisburg schools will be able to be reimbursed between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Holland Field Ticket Booth.

Those unable to attend the Miamisburg ticket reimbursement event on Saturday should email jshade@miamisburg.k12.oh.us by noon on Saturday.
